"The Wizard's Office" is a pastel painting by Judy Carducci. Carducci is known for her portrait paintings in pastel. This painting depicts Artist P.R. Miller, also known as "The Grizzled Wizard," seated in a chair within a cluttered and whimsical scene. The style is reminiscent of traditional portraiture but has a fantastical twist, which is typical of Carducci's work.

About artist Judy Carducci:

Judith B. Carducci, PSA, PSS, ASA, has been listed in Who's Who in American Art and received international recognition for her paintings and superb drawings, particularly in the genres of portraiture, figure, still life, and plein air. Her work has won top honors, including Best of Show, First Place, Award of Excellence, Award of Merit, Purchase Awards, and People's Choice, in national and international shows. It has been featured and published in many books and art journals worldwide.

Carducci studied art privately from the age of 6 through 17 with B.W. Plimpton in her atelier in Walpole, Massachusetts, near Boston; for three years with C.A. Brodeur in New Haven; and for three years at the University of Akron with the sculptor and painter George Danhires.

Regarding the subject, P.R. Miller began his career as a junkman. After taking classes in the art department at The University of Akron, which Emily Davis then directed, he gradually transformed discarded materials into art. In 2001, he showcased his work at the Massillon Museum. Many of Miller’s whimsical, oversized sculptures were created from materials discarded by heavy industry. With the launch of his company, International Amalgamated Thing Makers, he utilized his expertise in industrial waste composition to raise awareness about the dangers of pollution.

Titles and descriptions are believed to be accurate, but are not guaranteed. The photos are part of the description; always refer to them (and your eye) as the default description, as photos may show wear that is not mentioned in the written description. We do our best to describe and photograph the items in each lot to show any wear or defects; however, a perception of a "flaw" can vary from person to person.

We sometimes use Google Lens, an AI tool, to verify the authenticity of certain items by comparing them with other online sources, particularly for vintage items or those without clear markings. While it's usually accurate, occasional errors may occur. Therefore, please conduct thorough research before submitting a bid.

We utilize AI to generate backgrounds for the first photos, but leave the other images in their natural state. The item itself remains unchanged; only the background is altered.
